Mobile phone policy
Mobile Phone Ban
Students who choose to bring mobile phones to school must have them switched off and securely stored during school hours.

All Victorian Schools across the state must implement the ministerial policy that bans students using their mobile phones during school hours unless an exemption is sought. MRC has a policy that can be downloaded off the school website that enforces this ban.

If students choose to use their phones during school hours without verified approval then their phones will be confiscated and the following consequences apply:

First confiscation:
Student to be issued with a verbal warning

Second confiscation:
After school redemption

Third confiscation:
Parent pick up + Saturday detention

Fourth confiscation + additional
Suspension

Confiscations are logged on Compass and the following comments are added to on confiscation log in order to track the number of misuses the student has had:

Term X, 1st confiscation – warning issued
Term X, 2nd confiscation – after school redemption
Term X, 3rd confiscation – Family pick-up + Saturday detention

Confiscation tally renews each term.
